Thomas P. Dimitroff lives in Corning, New York, "The Crystal City." He is married to Celesta (Peetie) Dimitroff and they have a son, Thomas P. Dimitroff, Jr., who presently lives in Baltimore.

Mr. Dimitroff holds a BS ed. Degree from Mansfield University and an MS ed. Degree from Elmira College. He taught in secondary public schools for thirty-five years. He also has taught in the Empire State College system and is an Elderhostle instructor.

He writes frequently and has co-authored a history of Southeastern Steuben County in New York State as well as museum publications and several articles. Currently he is the primary author of a major new book titled Frederick Carder and Steuben Glass: American Classics published by Schiffer Publishing Limited in the fall of 1998. He has also written a weekly newspaper series about Steuben Glass during Steuben’s 2003 100th Anniversary celebration.

Mr. Dimitroff has been in the antiques business for over thirty-five years. He also does appraisals and specializes in American 19th and 20th century glass. He is Honorary Curator of Steuben Glass at the Rockwell Museum, a consultant at the Paul Vickers Gardner Glass Center at Alfred University, and a member of the Advisory Board of Schroeder’s Antiques Price Guide. He also is a Fellow at the Corning Museum of Glass. His memberships include the Glass Art Society, The Ennion Society at Cmog, The National Early American Glass Club, Open Salt Collectors Atlantic Region, Studio Access to Glass, and numerous other glass, educational, historical, and architectural preservation groups. Mr. Dimitroff lectures frequently on a variety of glass and history topics.

Mr. Dimitroff also served on the Corning City Council as an Alderman from the 2nd Ward. He is active in historic and architectural preservation and business development in the Corning Area. He is vice President of the Market Street Restoration Agency and on the board of CIDMA. Mr. Dimitroff was elected a member of the Steuben County Hall of Fame in 2007.
